Course content
The course focuses on the presentation and synthesis of the progress and results of the doctoral project. Doctoral students in their second year prepare a 30-minute scholarly presentation, supplemented with visual documentation, based on their research focus (dissertation). The presentation provides a comprehensive summary of the project's status, including an outline of the student's original and innovative approach, an overview of the literature used, and methodological procedures. Following the presentation, a 10-15 minute academic discussion takes place, allowing for critical reflection and defense of the proposed procedures and conclusions. Within the course, students develop the ability to: synthesize and present their research project systematically and in a visually clear manner; formulate and argue their own methodological and theoretical approaches; critically evaluate results and compare them with current international trends and practices in the field; connect theoretical insights with practical project outcomes; respond effectively to academic discussion and critical feedback. The course emphasizes theoretical grounding, scholarly argumentation, and the ability for critical interpretation, enabling doctoral students to systematically present their research and prepare for the defense of their dissertation theses.
