Course content
The content is mainly based on the topic of the doctoral study program, dissertation and individual study plan of the doctoral student. This course does not have the character of regular instruction. The content is defined by the process of the state doctoral examination, which includes: public presentation of the dissertation, presentation of methodology and research procedures, responses to the reviewers' evaluations, scholarly discussion before the examination committee, final assessment.

  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 10 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 60 hours per semester
  • Preparation for formative assessments (2-20) - 10 hours per semester

be familiar with the theoretical foundations of their doctoral project and relevant disciplinary discourses, demonstrate an advanced knowledge of scholarly literature and the current state of knowledge in the area of their research or artistic practice, understand methodological approaches used in artistic, artistic-research, or theoretical research, the historical and contemporary context of the chosen topic within the given art or design field, understand the relationships between theoretical concepts, research methodology, and the outcomes of the dissertation project, be oriented in the terminology of the field and use it appropriately in a professional context.
