Course content
The course is completed by undertaking a study-oriented internship at a professional institution abroad with a minimum duration of one month. During the internship, the student develops their dissertation project in dialogue with experts from the host institution, establishes professional contacts, and becomes familiar with methodological approaches relevant to their research. The outcome is the expansion of the student's professional competences and the strengthening of the international dimension of their research activities.

  • Presentation preparation (report in a foreign language) (10-15) - 6 hours per semester
  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 240 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 6 hours per semester

Knowledge
navigate the research or creative field of their doctoral project, understand the fundamental principles of methods and tools used in artistic and design research, plan and formulate the objectives and outcomes of their professional work, work independently with scholarly literature and sources within their research topic, reflect on and analyze their own creative process, communicate professional ideas and work results effectively.

independently plan and organize their own research or creative activities, work with scholarly literature and relevant sources in their field of research, formulate and record their ideas and findings in a coherent academic language, analyze and reflect on their own creative process and formulate research questions, communicate and collaborate with experts at international institutions, use basic technological, material, and methodological tools relevant to their project, present their ideas and outcomes clearly and effectively, both visually and in writing.

the specifics and methods of foreign research and creative environments, the possibilities and limitations of using materials, technologies, and methods relevant to their project in an international context, the organizational, ethical, and legal aspects of conducting research or artistic projects at a foreign institution, documentation and analysis of the creative process in an international setting, principles of critically evaluating one's own work and outputs in relation to the theoretical framework of the doctoral project.
Ability of expansion of vocabulary in a foreign language related to the issue of artistic expression.

independently conduct research or creative work in an international professional environment, apply the knowledge and methods acquired at a foreign institution to one's own project, communicate and collaborate effectively with experts and institutions abroad, reflect on differing perspectives, critically evaluate them, and confront them with one's own conclusions, use the acquired knowledge to enhance one's personal and professional competence portfolio, present the doctoral project in a foreign language.
