Course content
- Revision of the basic features of scientific functional style on individual linguistic levels - Revision and practicing of the linguistic means used in scientific functional style (esp. means for achieving a higher degree of text condensation, verbal nouns, adjectives, secondary prepositions, sentence transformations, terminology formation, etc.). - The main typographical principles in writing a qualification thesis - Citation rules - Types of appropriate AI tools, their choice and responsible use - Ongoing feedback during the process of writing a final thesis, follow-up tasks and their checking - Practicing selected topics according to students' actual needs

- know linguistic features at a minimum level B1.2 according to the CEFR - name the basic characteristics of a formal text - distinguish words of foreign origin and know the rules of their declension - distinguish the frequent forms of secondary prepositions - distinguish forms of verbal nouns and adjectives - know the basic types of sentence transformations in order to achieve a higher level of text condensation - distinguish the basic punctuation marks and know the rules of their use - know the basic citation and typographical rules for scientific texts

- know the linguistic, citation and formal requirements for final theses - be familiar with the basic linguistic and formal shortcomings encountered in final theses - be familiar with different types of AI tools and know the potential and pitfalls of their use in the process of writing a scientific text
