Course content
1. Course and textbook information. Course requirements 2. Raduga 4. Unit 4 Grammar - imperative. 3. In a restaurant, menu. Communicative exercise. 4. Unit 4 Text ? national cuisine recipes., healthy food, literature. 5. Unit 5 Grammar ? verb phrases, pronouns, adjectives. 6. Text - lifestyle. Healthcare, national holidays. Literature. 7. Revision. 1st credit test. 8. Raduga 5 ? foreign language knowledge, why to learn Russian, verb phrases. 9 Texts: international certificate. Language learning, interpreter´s work, language school advertisement. Communicative exercise. 10. Famous Russian scientists. Unit 2 ? buying a flat, flat description. 11.Unit 2 Grammar - exercises, dialogues. 12. Supplementary texts ? housing, types of housing. 13. Final revision. Final credit test.

Students can: - take an active part in a conversation related to everyday matters in their life - engage in conversations on familiar topics covered in the course, e.g. clothing, weather, seasons of the year, travelling, at the airport, checking into a hotel , in a restaurant, ordering a meal, lifestyle - understand gist of clear and simple messages - hire services they need on the phone and in person - locate and exploit the information from various sources such as the Internet, television, commercials, newspapers, magazines - correctly use the vocabulary from the acquired topics

Knowledge
Students can: - express their opinions and respond to others´ arguments adequately - talk about everyday matters related to their life , e.g. foreign language learning, lifestyle - correctly use the basic vocabulary from the acquired topics and appropriately use grammar structures - arrange meetings and make appointments they need by phone and in person - give a summary of a newspaper article or of what they have heard - write reports or stories which present arguments adequately
