Course content

1. Basic concepts (systematics, taxonomy, methods of systematic botany). Historical overview of the concept of classification systems. Evolution and origin of higher plants, telome and stellar theory. 2. Bryophyta, Marchantiophyta, Anthocerophyta. Higher plants - Cormobionta: Rhyniophyta, Zosterophyllophyta, Trimerophyta. 3. Equisetophyta, Lycopodiophyta, Polypodiophyta I. (fossil) 4. Polypodiophyta II. (recent). Seed plants. 5. Gymnosperms. Cycadophyta, Cordaites, Ginkgophyta, Pinophyta 6. Angiosperms. Basal dicots: ANA/ANITA + magnolid branch. Monocots I. "Alismatids" 7. Monocots II. "Lilies" 8. Monocots III. "Commelinids" 9. Rosopsida I. Basal groups Rosopsid. Eurosides I. 10. Rosopsida II.
