Course content
1. Introduction - delimitation of the state territory, geographical position; 2.+3. Geology and geological development of the Bohemian Massif and the Carpathian; 4.+5. Geomorphology - quaternary development, main geomorphologic features, regional geomorphology; 6. Climate conditions - main characteristic, factors; 7. Hydrological conditions - spatial distribution of water resources, factors; 8. Pedogeography - spatial distribution of soil types; 9. Biogeography - sources of species diversity, bioregions, factors influencing diversity and spatial distribution of species; 10. Landscape changes - Pleistocene and Holocene changes, landscape phenomenons; 11. Landscape protection, protected areas; 12. State of the environment - indicators, historical trends in pollution, causes and effects; 13. Geographical regions. Tutorials: Work with thematic maps (Atlas of the landscape, geological maps etc.), data processing and interpretation, revision of regional topography.

Knowledge
Elementary knowledge of physical geography (hydrology, pedology, geology, geomorphology, biogeography, meteorology, climatology)
Secondary knowledge of topography and regional geography of the Czech Republic. GEO1, GEO2 and GEO3 lectures are recommanded.

compare the physical geography differences of the Czech Republic based on secondary knowledge
derive the physical geography conditions of the Czech Republic in relation to knowledge of general geographical principles
