Course content
|
Basic terminology of the subject, the concept of word from the point of view form and meaning, word as a sign, paradigmatic and syntagmatic semantic relations (synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, hyponyms, meronyms, polysemantic words, phraseologisms, collocations, phrasal verbs). Word-formation (derivation, compounding, conversion, shift of stress, gradation, shortening, back-formation, blending, acronyms, onomatopoeia), work with dictionaries and their typology, interference with Czech in the area of word-meaning (words similar in form, different in meaning), stylistic differentiation of vocabulary.
