Course content
Ethnic groups, ethnopolitical mobilization and ethnic conflict Liberal theories of minority rights Theories of multiculturalism Multicultural policies and their limits The problem of citizenship in multiethnic societies Language rights in multilingual societies Political and constitutional systems of divided societies Policies of minority accomodation, their limits and failures - secession, segregation and genocide Ethnic political parties in party systems Voting behaviour, electoral systems and ethnic diversity International organizations and minority rights International justice and minority rights

to explain the singificance of the ethnic conflict resolution from the perspective of the states and international institutions

to interpret the changes of the definition of the concepts of ethnicity, ethnic group, national state and interaction between the ethnic groups and the state

to analyze critically and interpret chosen phenomenon in broader context transcending the borders of the discipline
