Course content
Definition and conceptualization of extremism and radicalism, roots of these -isms Establishment of modern ideologies with regard to the extreme right and extreme left in the 19th century (anarchism, orthodox Marxism, racism, anti-Semitism, xenophobia) Establishment of modern ideologies with regard to the extreme right and extreme left in the 20th century (Nazism, Fascism, Communism) Contemporary political extremism and radicalism (political parties and their branches or paramilitary wings, ultra-right and ultra-left subcultures, ultranationalism, religious extremism, Islamic fundamentalism)
