1. Post-behaviourist political science - an outline of development and existing divisions after the post-behavioural revolution 2. Realism vs. postmodernism in political theory 3. Game theory 4. Economic approaches to politics - theories of public and social choice - limits of democracy and rational (group) decision-making, rationalist theory of groups 5. Contemporary forms of pluralism - neo-pluralism and elite theory, social movements, political process, groups and power 6. Systemic approaches to contemporary issues - theories of power, communication and groups (Luhmann) 7. Key concepts in contemporary institutionalism 8. Structuralism and post-structuralism (different views of electoral behaviour, international relations, political communication etc.) 9. Contemporary Marxist theories - structuralism vs. instrumentalism, neo-Marxism and structuration theory (Bhaskar, Giddens etc.), dependence theories, world-system theory 10. Psychological theories of politics - political psychology 11. Political science and political economy - individualism vs. structuralism, interest vs. conflict, power, state and economy 12. Feminist revisions of traditional political science 13. Contemporary theories of the state - relations between state and society - theory of public policy - questions of state power, organized group interests and public policy (structuralist, institutionalist and intentionalist perspectives)
