Course content
Main topics: 1-3. Practice of pottery conservation and restoration 4-5. Practice of historical glass conservation 6. Practice of the conservation of bronze and non-ferrous metal artefacts 7-8. Practice of iron artefact conservation 9-10. Practice of the conservation of objects made from organic materials (wood, leather textiles) 11. Modern analytical methods used to determine the chemical composition and degree of disruption of objects (corrosion/ degradation).procedures and principles of correct preventive and restoration conservation, including the restoration of collection items. Students gain practical knowledge of the conservation and restoration of selected examples of artefacts made of pottery, glass, iron, non-ferrous metals and organic materials.
