Course content
|
Main topics: 1. Introduction to the Bronze Age, general characteristics, research history, basic references. 2. The Early Bronze Age in the Czech Republic overwiev - chronology, typical artefacts and activities. 3. The Middle Bronze Age in the Czech Republic overwiev - chronology, typical artefacts and activities. 4. The Late Bronze Age in the Czech Republic overwiev - chronology, typical artefacts and activities. 5. The Final Bronze Age in the Czech Republic overwiev - chronology, typical artefacts and activities. 6. Settlements - typology, structure, building environment, 7. Agriculture, archaeobotanics, the keeping and hunting of animals, archaeozoology. 8. Raw materials procurement and processing (ores, stone materials, salt, graphite, amber). 9. Metallurgical production (of the tin bronze and the other metals). 10. Production of non-metal materials (pottery, textiles, bone and the other organic materials, glass, stone tools). 11. Social and economic relations, communities, mobility, materials and artefacts distribution, conflicts. 12. Burial activities - cemeteries, burial rite characteristics, symbolic and ritual activities. 13. The Bronze Age in the West Bohemia: significant sites and finds, researchers, references.
