Course content
Thematic areas: 1. Current trends in archaeological air survey and remote sensing: introduction. 2. Important international projects of the last decade. 3. Survey of the most significant results of aerial survey remote and sensing application in individual European countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, United Kingdom). 4. Most recent methods of remote sensing and their application in archaeology.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Individual project (40) - 44 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 60 hours per semester

Knowledge
Students have a grasp of archaeological theory and methodology (MA level).
Skills
Students understand scientific text in Czech and English and are able to interpret and critically assess its content. Students know how to utilize electronic information resources. Students are capable of working systematically and independently. Students are capable of formally presenting their research and leading scientific discussions.
learning outcomes
Knowledge
Students are acquainted with the methods of remote sensing (aerial survey, photogrammetric aerial images, satellite and LIDAR data) and are well-versed in the field of their application in archaeology.
Skills
Students are capable of interpreting data acquired via remote sensing and use this data in the protection and documentation of archaeological, architectural, and urban heritage.
