Course content
|
Basic substances and systems (oxides, silicates, carbonates, mineralogy and geology of natural non-metallic raw materials). Technology of ceramics (raw materials and their blending, drying, firing, glazing and decoration). Ceramics based on natural raw materials, refractories, construction oxide and non-oxide technical ceramics based on synthetic materials. Technology of glassmaking (glass characteristics and properties, glassforming elements, principal types of industrial glasses). Glassy and crystalline surface coatings (enamels, glazes, sputtered coatings). Inorganic binders (characteristics, plaster binders, mortars, cement, lime, binders based on phosphates, water glass).
