1. Engobes, glazes, types of glazes, raw materials for the preparation of glazes, toxicity and rules for treating them. 2. Glassy state, phase diagrams, influence of various elements oxides on glass properties. 3. Consistency between glaze and shard, dilatometry, Steger's method, Harkort's test. 4. Crystallization and matte glazes, determining proper thickness of glaze. 5. Glaze calculations, Seger's formula. Calculation of expansion, glaze baking temperatures - compared to the low pression heat-microscopy. 6. How to design glazes. 7. Preparation of glazes, glazing slurry rheology, glazing methods, check methods. 8. Commercially produced glazes, manufacturers' catalogs. 9. Ceramic dyers, division, structural types, temperatures for particular use, influence of glaze type on glaze color. 10. Staining of glass and glazes, coloring with oxides, dyers; hardening. 11. Commercially produced dyers, catalogs. 12. Defects in glazes. 13. Summary of the subject matter and preparation for the control test.
