Course content
National Liberation, the beginnings of industrialization and development of economic relations with Europe Status of the Czech lands as the most industrialized areas of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the beginning of the 20th century Consequences of the World War 1 to the economic structure The collapse of Austria-Hungary and the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the economic impacts The economic rise in the twenties The Great Depression and its consequences for the economic situation in the thirties Establishment of the Protectorate and involvement in the war economy Post-war reconstruction in terms of heightened political struggle The onset of central planning and economic development autarchic Economic voluntarism and looking for ways to stabilize in fifties Partial stabilization and reform efforts in sixties Normalization and the effects of structural crisis seventies Stagnation and inability to adapt to new economic conditions in eighties
