Course content
Lectures 1. - 2. Introduction to the field of balneology and balneotherapy, general principles of spa treatment, list of indications. 3. - 4. Diseases of the circulatory system - indications and contraindications of balneotherapy, general principles for physiotherapy, reactions and adaptations to stress, aerobic and anaerobic stress. 5. - 6. Cyclic movement activities, ergometric training. 7. - 8. Increasing muscle strength in cardiac patients, dosed field treatments. 9. - 10. Diseases of the respiratory system - indications and contraindications of balneotherapy, general principles for physiotherapy, reactions and adaptations to stress, aerobic and anaerobic stress in relation to respiratory functions. 11. - 12. Respiratory physiotherapy. Dosage of breathing training. Functional training. Relationship of posture to respiratory functions. 13. - 14. Diseases from metabolic disorders and glands with internal secretion - indications and contraindications of balneotherapy, general principles for physiotherapy, reaction and adaptation to stress, aerobic and anaerobic stress. 15. Credit test. Exercises 1. Ergometric training. 2. Cyclic movement activities: Walking. 3. - 5. Cyclic exercise activities: Nordic walking, dosed terrain treatment. 6. Cyclic exercise activities: Exercise bike, motomed. 7. - 9. Multi-peak exercise unit. 10. Strengthening in cardiology. 11. Postural adjustment during respiratory functions. 12. Cycle of breathing techniques. 13. Instrumented breathing. 14. Functional breathing training. 15. Locomotion.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Practical training (number of hours) - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 15 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 45 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 20 hours per semester
