Lectures: The methods of pathology. Autopsy (dissection), necropsy, biopsy. The disease and its causes. Internal causes of the disease. External causes of the disease. The symptoms of the disease. Regressive changes. Necrosis, bed sores (decubitus) and gangrene. Atrophy and dystrophy. Disorders of metabolism of proteins, amyloidosis, hyaline and fibrinoid degeneration. Metabolism disorders of fats and sugars. Metabolism disorders of water and minerals. Inflammation. Definition, characteristics and symptoms of inflammation. Nonspecific inflammation and its forms. Specific inflammation, characteristics. Infection and immunity. Infectious disease and its symptoms. Bacteremia, sepsis, pyemia, septic shock, immune disorders.
