Course content
The development of care for historical monuments in Bohemian countries, contemporary organisation of the governmental care for historical monuments in the Czech Republic. The development of museology and museum work in Bohemian countries, the most important museum institutions in the Czech Republic and in the region (National Museum, National Gallery, National Technical Museum, Museum of West Bohemia). Other institutions administering or keeping cultural objects (National Library, National Archive). Legal regulations in the area of care for cultural heritage (Law on Government Care for Historical Monuments, Law on Preservation of Museum Collections). Specifics of cultural heritage in the Czech Republic and in European context (cultural landscape, available historical objects and their interior installations). Historical monuments of the UNESCO World Heritage in the Czech Republic. Current problems and potential of cultural heritage in the Czech Republic. Seminar: basics of museum work, basics of conservationist work, acquaintance with creation of cultural institution marketing plan, fundamentals of conceiving an exhibition and a lecture programme.
