Course content
1. Lexicology and lexicography as linguistic disciplines and their relation to other linguistic disciplines 2. Definition of basic terminology 3. Lexicography, types of dictionaries and their structure 4. Vocabulary sources, word formation, typology of word formation processes 5. Derivation, composition, lexical amalgams and other morpho-semantic processes 6. Abbreviation and morphological processes 7. Language acceptances, problems of their equivalence, anglicisms and so-called treacherous words 8. Syntactic-semantic processes, change of meaning and form 9. Phraseology, proverbs, established sayings 10. Lexical semantics (homonymy, paronymy, synonymy, antonymy) 11. Linguistic variations (diatopia, diastracy) 12. Neology, new words

The student will acquire knowledge related to key concepts in the field of lexicology and lexicography.
The student acquires and deepens theoretical knowledge in the field of word formation, variational linguistics and neology.
Can use adequate terminology that he / she is able to integrate between concepts of related linguistic disciplines.
