Course content
Interpreting: characteristics, types, requirements on the interpreter, evaluation of interpreting process. Preparation before interpreting. Memory exercises: Russian names order, numbers, lists, reproduction of content. Informative interpreting. Translation of the dialogue into languages, discussions and monologue. Notation. Sight interpreting, comparison with translation. Interpreting lexically difficult expressions (generalization, description). Consecutive interpreting in both language directions with notation as well as without (basic information about a company, brief presentation) Language means: company and personal contacts, social situations ? introduction, discussion (characteristics and goals), presentation of a company (name, place, origin, structure, activities, evaluation)

Russian language level B2 (SERR) is required.
learning outcomes
Students will get knowledge and basic skills in informative and consecutive interpreting in both language directions. Students are able to apply theory into practice; they can use interpreting method for interpreting spoken message as well as written utterance. They can find an appropriate kind of interpreting for a specific situation.
