Risk and impacts of chance on people's economic activity, risk management, the importance of risk management. Insurance as a tool of risk elimination, insurance as a financial category. Specifics of insurance companies' management, solvency of insurance companies and basic principles of Solvency II methodology. Insurance technical reserves of insurance companies, their importance from the point of view of the insurance company 's management, principles of their investment. Risks in the activities of insurance companies. Reinsurance and forms of reinsurance. The importance of reinsurance for the activities of the insurance company. Insurance, breakdown into life and non-life, breakdown into lump sums and damage insurance. Basic characteristics of life insurance products. Basic characteristics of non-life insurance products. Business and industrial risk insurance. Retirement Savings. Insurance and its place in the economy, insurers, insurance intermediaries. Property and investment insurance market, subjects of the insurance market, insurance companies as institutional investors, insurance indicators. Insurance market in the conditions of the Czech Republic and comparison with abroad. New trends in insurance markets - new products, peer-to-peer insurance, bank-insurance.
