Course content
Introduction to Medical and Health Geographies. Accessible literature. Terminology. The development of the discipline and contemporary tendencies in the world and in the Czech Republic. Triangle of human ecology in the context of health status. Factors of physical geography and their influence on health / sickness rate / mortality. Socio-economic factors and their influence on health / sickness rate / mortality. Geography of HIV / AIDS in the context of the triangle of human ecology. Geography of HIV/AIDS: case studies. Environmental issues and health status of the population.
