Course content
|
Students of master's program can enroll in this course as in so-called second studio. Weeks 1 - 13 - Determination of principles for communication during the semester, assignment of the topic of semester project. - Creating layout of books, magazines, newspapers, catalogs, brochures, invitations, posters, leaflets. - Creation of illustrative material (drawings, paintings, photographs ...) as a starting point for creating illustrated books, posters, etc. - Introduction to work and enhancing skills in the use of computer programs for typography and image processing. - Combining images and fonts. - Specific typographical rules for setting of specialized publications. - Continuous input, consultation, correction, production and submission of partial seminar tasks. - Presentation. Examples of topics for seminar exercises: - Children's magazine cover design. - Draft of prospectus, catalog. - Proposals of covers and illustrations accompanying a book series. - Design of a manual for a technical product. - Layout of an academic text.
