Course content

to orientate in the Czech and world history of the early and the high Middle Ages corresponding to the level of bachelor study of history
learning outcomes
to acquire a detailed insight into the problems of European medieval history, to clarify the issues of some special political, faithful and economic relations of this period.
Skills
Analyze the causes of ecclesiastical schism and other contradictions within the Catholic Church. Describe the foundations of European humanism. Show contradictions and possibilities of cooperation between the medieval Czech state and the Holy Roman Empire. Justify the causes of the decline of medieval society and attempts to remedy it. Characterize medieval society and the everyday life of individual layers and didactically convincingly and objectively present a period of early modernity, write a seminar work on a specific topic.
