Course content
1. Introduction to the history of world education 2. History of education in ancient civilizations 3. Education and the European Medieval, the role of the Church, the phenomenon of universities 4. The Czech Reformation of the 15th Century and the Creation of the Unity of Brotherhood. Brethren's unity in 16th century transformations between lutheranism and calvary 5. Comenius youth and education in the cultivated environment of native Moravia. Comenius foreign studies and the influence of the Western European Reformation. Comenius return and activities in the pre-mountain times 6. Persecution of the White Mountain - contentious writings, foreign activities. Emigration and action in Lešno - the beginnings of corrective projects 8. The Questions of Revelations and Eschatology in the Comenius Work 9. The development and transformation of Comenius 'work and the last historiography and comeniology, Comenius' reference to today 10. Educational education, transformation of education in Europe and Habsburg monarchy in the 18th century 11. New educational requirements in the 19th century, main theorists 12th 20th Century - New Theories of Education

Students should have basic orientation of the Czech and early modern European history with regard to the history of the Reformation and religious issues.

Knowledge
the history of world and European education, the main stages and important personalities. The student explains the basic characteristics of the Czech and European Reformation and places Comenius in his development, analyzes the theological, pansoficical and pedagogical work of Comenius, illustrates by way of example the principles of Comenius didactics and its interconnection with all-right efforts

comparison and analysis of the individual stages of world education, understanding of the core work on the history of the education, understanding and interpretation of the leading works by J. A. Komenský and their significance for today
