1. Historiography of the Thirty Year War; Czech, translated and foreign literature. 2. Sources for the Thirty Years War (chronicles, memories, pragmatic documents, etc.) 3. Terminology; definition, status of research and study centers 4. Prelude of the Thirty Year War-the demolition of the Protestant church in Hrob and attempt to close the church in Broumov 5. Confiscation, recatholisation and emigration in the Czech lands in the 20s of the 17th century 6. Military 1618-1648; antagonist camps, decisive battles, equipment, strategy, mercenary 7. Habsburg military aristocracy-condottieri, generals, officers 8. Parvenus after the "Battle of BíláHora" and clerical career (PavelMichna, FilipFabricius, etc.) 9. War experiences of Czech cities, confrontation of local citizens with the military element, a weekday in a city during the war 10. Peace of Westphalia, peace negotiations and post-war arrangement in Europe, the situation in Czech lands 11. Reading of historical sources from the Thirty Year War

Students will deepen their knowledge of the Thirty Year War in several key chapters , they will be familiar with the extant sources, Czech literature, translated literature and selected foreign literature, especially Central European one. Acquired knowledge about the causes of the outbreak of war, the confiscation and recatholisationbackground , the military and soldiers of fortunate , everyday life during the war in urban and rural areas, the post-war order of countries in Europe. |
