Course content
Methodological and formulation issues arising from the preparation of dissertations are discussed in detail. 1. Choice of methods and structure of the written thesis, ability to recognize the adequate procedure in the preparation of qualifying theses, ability to lead a discussion on the methodology and content of the written thesis. 2. The PhD student will fully master the music historical and music theoretical facts of the chosen thematic area of the dissertation. The student will be able to work independently with the literature studied and to evaluate extant sources related to the chosen thematic area of the dissertation task. 3. The PhD student is a specialist in the thematic area defined by the dissertation task. The discussion of all seminar members is guided by the seminar leader. 4. Terminology and definition of basic concepts in music pedagogy and music psychology. 5. Methodological foundations of research in music education. 6. A systematic approach to the phenomena under study. 7. Classification of research methods. 8. Theoretical methods of music education research. 9. Empirical research methods. 10. Suggestions from standardized foreign tests of musicality. 11. Implementation of the research, processing of the obtained results. 12. Discussion of specific dissertation topics in terms of music education research.

Briefly characterize the process of musical apperception in terms of musical psychology, psychology of musical abilities and developmental musical psychology Identify factors influencing musical perception and clarify their pedagogical aspects Explain the concept of music as a signage system To clarify the meaning of anticipation, associations and motor skills in musical perception from the point of view of a child listener Clarify the essence and meaning of emotions and emotions while listening to music
