Course content
Founders of modern Czech music - Janacek, Martinu and their impact on the immediately following generation of composers. Alois Haba and his influence on the creation of microtonal modern world. Vitezslav Novak, Miroslav Kabeláč - serious personality in composing and prominent teachers of composition. School in Brno, Studio authors (Joseph Berg, John Wayne). Great personalities of Czech contemporaneous music (Karel Husa, Svatopluk Havelka, Petr Eben, Zdenek Lukas and others). Composers who lived in the Pilsen Region. Information about the state of Czech production in different regions.

Getting to know the history of Czech classical music in the 20th and 21st century.
learning outcomes
Students examine the historical and musical specific features of compositions of Czech authors of the 20th and 21 century from the field of classical music, for the song deliver their opinion and include it in the context of the world's musical development. Also they underpin the characteristics of the Czech musical expression.
