1. Basic terms of 20th century music. (tonality, atonality, modality, polytonality, thematic and atheistic style). Charles Ives. 2. The first decade of the 20th century. Expressionism in music. Second Viennese School. Paris Six. 3. Bartók, Kodály, Janáček, Martinů. 4. Stravinsky, Prokofiev. 5. Shostakovich, Hindemith, Orff 6. Gershwin and other American composers of the 20th century. (Copland, Cage, Crumb and others) 7. Condition after 1945. Temple music - her means of expression and personality. 8. Electroacoustic, concrete and synthetic music and its personality. 9. Characteristics and personalities of New Simplicity. 10. Significant composition schools and personalities after 1945 - French School (Messiaen, Boulez and more) 11. Polish School after 1945 (Lutoslawski, Penderecki, Gorecki, Baird and others) 12. Other important composers of the second half of the 20th century. - Stockhausen, Xenakis, Schnitke, Pärt, Gubajdulina and others 13. Czech Music in the Context of World Development 2nd half of the 20th century. (Kabeláč, Eben, Sommer, Havelka, Husa and others)
