Course content
|
The content of this course are separate performances - student presentations, in which students will show their exemplary music education hours (about 40 min. long) with the focus on nonartificial music followed by analysis with lecturers and other students. Other performances shown by the students may have following topics: what is popular music?, Basic characteristics of jazz music, blues, spirituals and other African-American folklore, ragtime, marching jazz, Chicago jazz, early swing, swing, be bop, cool, and west coast jazz, 3. current, hard bop, soul jazz, free jazz, jazz rock, contemporary jazz, the emergence of modern popular music, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin, musicals, singing star 40th let, Elvis Presley, rockenroll, Bealtles, Rolloing Stones, music personalities 60th let, Woodstock, hard rock, heavy metal, art rock, punk, new romanticism, rap, techno music, contemporary pop trends. ambient music and world music, alternative music, folk in the world, the Czech jazz scene, the Czech rock scene, the Czech pop scene

Students should know the basic knowledge in the field of music theory and history of music psychology, pedagogy and didactics. |

Students should be able to apply and demonstrate their knowledge of the subjects Nonartificial Music HNO 1 HNO 2 (history of jazz and popular music), Music Education and Music Psychology in demonstration lessons of teaching nonartificial music at elementary and secondary school. They should be able to define to future students different genres of nonartificial music, so that they can indetify them and recognize them from listening to music. In addition to be able to relate the different stages of development of nonartificial music and adapt them to the age of pupils and lead them to the ability to recognize different styles and genres of nonartificial music. |

The student should be able to name the basic musical sources of jazz music, should recognize the basic features of jazz music and also determine the main stages of the development of jazz music and the basic genres of popular music until the 70s of the 20th century based on listening.
