Course content
1) The introductions to the problematic 2) China and the Great Powers in the first half of the 19th century 3) The fall of the Tokugawa Bakufu and the Meiji Reforms 4) China in the second half of the 19th century 5) The South-east Asia under the rule of the colonial powers 6) Japanese entry into the Great Powers system 7) The fall of the Chines Empire and the development of the republics 8) Japanese expansion in Asia 9) The Pacific War and the changes in South-east Asia 10) The creation of the PRC 11) History of Korea and the Korean War 12) China in the second half of the 20th century (Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution) 13) Japan after the World War II
