The Great French Revolution. - The rise and fall of the regime of Napoleon I. ? The Congress of Vienna 1814-1815. -Latin America - the development towards independence. ? Revolutions in 20?s and 30?s of the 19th century. - Internal political developments in France and Britain after the Napoleonic wars. - Revolution 1848/1849. Background, course and consequences. - Selected problems of non-European developments - the opium wars and Tchaj-pching rebellion in China. The Great Rebellion in India. - Crimean War - problems in the development of the Eastern question. - Italian unification - conditions, context, consequences. - Developments in the German league and the way to the unification of Germany. - Development of the United States from independence till civil war. The causes, course and consequences of civil war. - Restoration and Meiji reforms in Japan. ? The basic problems of development of international relations in the years 1871-1914 (including the Great Power colonial Policy).
