Selected topics: Economic and ideological causes and circumstances of the functioning of the Estates state. ? Inter and foreign political causes and circumstances of the functioning of the Estates State. ? Comparison of the Austrian case with other undemocratic regimes. - The causes leading to the ?Anschluss? in 1938.

Students will create an overview of key events in Austrian history from 1933 ? 1938 and analyze various aspects of the development of the Austrian estates country. Further they will compare the development of Estates state with development of other contemporary non-democratic states. They will recognize and formulate the causes leading to the ?Anschluss? of Austria in 1938. |
