|
Selected topics: 1. Way to the war I. Situation in the Europe after the First World War and the rise of totalitarianism, Japanese expansionism. 2. Way to the war II. German aggression in the Europe - Austria anschluss, occupation of Czechoslovakia and outbreak of the war. 3. German blitzkrieg - campaign in Poland, Scandinavia and France. 4. Intermezzo - battle of Britain, situation in Balkan, Africa and Pacific, origin of the Axis. 5. Barbarossa - German attack of Russia (to the battle of Moscow), Japan and USA entering the war. 6. Year 1942 - German offensive on the Easter front, battle of Stalingrad; navy operation - battle of Atlantic; battles in Africa, Japanese blitzkrieg in Pacific and battle of Midway and Guadalcanal. 7. Year 1943 - turning point - battle of Kursk, allied landing in Italy, victory in Atlantic and recession of Japan in Pacific, allied conference in Teheran. 8. Year 1944 - invasion of Normandy, soviet offensive in the East, defeat of Japan in Pacific. 9. Year 1945 - defeat of Germany, conference in Potsdam, capitulation of Japan. 10. Economic and social development in the years 1939 - 1945, holocaust. 11. Czechoslovakia during the years 1939 - 1945. 12. Consequences of the Second World War and the causes of the Cold War.
