Course content
1. Introduction to the issue - clarification of the basic concepts of nation, nationality, national minority , ethnic nation-state versus state 2. The establishment of Czechoslovakia 3. The position of the German and Hungarian minorities to the new state 4. Political parties of the German minority 5. Political parties of the Hungarian minority 6.-7. The issue of Ruthenia; Polish national minority 8. Representation of ethnic minorities in the National Assembly; censorship 9. - 11. Searching for a new direction in minority politics in the second half of the thirties of the 20th century - the election in 1935 , finding a modus vivendi with Germany; February's Agreement of 1937, the project status as a national attempt at a new law regulating the status of national minorities in 1938 , the Munich Agreement 12. Education as a basic statistical argument to support the Czechoslovak national policy 13. Conclusion
