The course is a chronological overview of the problem of the historical period, taking into account individual focuses of Ph.D. students. The Great Revolution in France and the Napoleonic Wars. The Pre-March Period. The Revolutions of 1848-1849. The National Movements and Nationalism. The Unification of Italy and Germany. The Internal Evolution of France and Great Britain. Europe on the Way to the World War I. The Industrial and Technological Revolution. The Eastern Question. The Colonialism and Imperialism. The Evolution of the United States of America and the Civil War. Japan and China in the Confrontation with the Western Civilization. Czech History within European and World Context.
