Course content
1) Possible methodological approaches and concepts to the issue of war in the literature. 2) Typology of wars and war conflicts. Theory of war and peace in the Czech environment. 3) Society and its army I: from the early modern mercenary to the conscription army of the 18th century. 4) Excursion I: Theresian and Napoleonic Wars 5) Society and its army II: mass armies of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century 6) Excursion II: Wars 1848-1866. 7) Excursion III: World War I 8) Excursion IV: World War II 9) Society and its army III: from a socialist soldier to a military professional 10) Excursion V: military missions, "war" on terrorism 11) War and army from a religious, national and social point of view. 12) War propaganda, war in art, art in war. 13) War experience and memory, memory of war.
