Course content
The lectures are aimed to the basic knowledge for the design work in machinery. The knowledge of science is utilized to the design practice. 1. Motivation lecture, course content, final requirements 2. Loading analysis of machine parts 3. Stress and strain analysis of failure of machine elements 4. Stress assessment of machine elements 5. Connections with embedded internal element - flail, pin 6. Connection by grooving and polygons 7. Connnection by shape - friction, slotting 8. Welding in machine design 9. Solder and adhesive connections 10. Prestressed connections 11. Screws loaded by the constant force 12. Clamping joints, expansion rings, polygons, rivets, studs 13. Conclusions
