Course content
The course deals with the principles of measurement of quantities used in technical practice. The student gains knowledge that is applicable for his future technical activity. Topics of lectures according to weeks: 1st week: Introduction, properties of measuring instruments, accuracy of measuring and instruments 2nd week: Dynamics of quantities measurement, characteristics, block diagrams 3rd week: Evaluation circuits - amplifiers, adapters 4th week: Evaluation circuits - bridges 5th week: Measurement of heat and temperature - types of thermometers, use 6th week: Measurement of heat and temperature - theoretical knowledge of principles 7th week: Measurement of position and distance - measuring methods 8th week: Position and distance measurement - sensors, force and torque measurement 9th week: Pressure and level measurement - theoretical knowledge of principles 10th week: Pressure measurement - types of sensors 11th week: Flowmeters, flow rate, liquid and gas velocities 12th week: Measurement of speed and feedrate 13th week: Industrial measuring system Weekly lecture contents - see Courseware.
