Course content
1. Legislature, classification of buildings. General technical requirements for construction. 2. Typology of buildings, principles of operation in buildings, spatial requirements and interior layout context. 3. Structural systems of buildings. Building materials and technologies of construction. Elements of vertical and horizontal load-bearing structures and their characteristics. 4. Foundation and substructure. Waterproofing. 5. Staircases and ramps - typology and structural types. Elevators, escalators. Overhung structures. 6. Roofing of buildings. Bearing structures of roofs, flat and pitched roofs. 7. Final completion structures - partitions, floors, ceilings, surfaces. Hole fillings - windows, doors, gates. 8. Building claddings. Thermal insulation systems. Energy performance of buildings. Thermal bridges. 9. Requirements and parameters of fire safety of buildings. Barrier-free use of buildings, movement of persons with reduced mobility and orientation, architectural and structural barriers. 10. Defects, failures, rehabilitation and construction changes of buildings. Constructional and historical survey. 11. Construction changes and development of buildings. Technical improvements of buildings. Operating costs of buildings. 12. Security risks associated with the preparation and operation of buildings. Sustainable construction, life cycle costs of buildings.
