Course content
The course focuses on the following areas: high energy rate forming, fibre composites and their application, composite materials and their rolling, powder metallurgy and its application to forming, transverse wedge rolling, metal, cold extrusion (forward, backward and sideward), production of low-pressure vessels, production of forged teeth gearing, cold deep drawing of sheet metal, examples of applications, excursion.

Lecture supplemented with a discussion, Lecture with practical applications, Practicum
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 50 hours per semester

Knowledge
the ability to independently describe the thermomechanical factors affecting plastic deformation to explain the physical nature and mechanisms of plastic deformation to describe basic forming technologies to explain vital signs of hot and cold forming including advantages and disadvantages of these ways of forming
Skills
to be able to analyze the main criteria influencing the choice of forming technology to develop a manufacturing process of forging for a simple machine component to manage the solution of stress and force necessary for plastic deformation to assemble forces balance equation in plastically deformed bodies

to analyze the possibilities of using pressurized fluids in the field of sheet metal forming to interpret theoretical laws of plastic deformation into the field of unconventional methods of forming to perform calculations of deformation forces in selected forming technologies (to propose) the manufacturing process of pressure vessels with a high degree of forming
