Course content
|
Awareness of course aims and content, safety and hygiene rules in a workplace. Work with main machines for wood cutting ? saws, milling cutters, drills, mortising machines, lathes. Work with portable manual electric equipment. Work safety, basic maintenance. Maintenance and adjustment of manual equipment for wood cutting: plane, chisel, saws, drills. Basic operations, maintenance, and adjustment of machines for wood cutting: radial saw, band saw, scintillation and chain saws. Basic operations, maintenance, and adjustment of machines for wood cutting: broaching machines, wood shavings, mortising machines, and milling cutters. Chipless-machining operation ? steam treatment. Basic wood surfacing working.

| Students will be qualified to work with equipment for machine wood cutting. They can maintain selected wood cutting machines and set the parameters necessary for their appropriate operation. Students can use such machines for creation of simple products or for preparation of semi-products suitable for further processing and for teaching. Students can correctly interpret and apply the work safety rules in practice. |
