Course content
|
Syllabus of lectures: Health promotion and prevention of neurological diseases. Basic neurological examinations, neurological diagnostic procedures and tests; symptomatology of neurological diseases. Disturbances of consciousness (classification, causes, clinical manifestations, treatment). Increased intracranial pressure (definitions, causes, clinical manifestations, therapy), brain edema, herniation syndrome. Seizures (classification: partial seizures, generalized seizures, status epilepticus) Headaches (causes, types, clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis, symptomatic treatment) Degenerative diseases of the nervous system (Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, Alzheimer's disease); degenerative spinal cord disease (syringomyelia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Cerebrovascular diseases (ischaemia and intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, aneurysm, vascular malformation). Inflammatory infectious diseases of the nervous system (meningitis, parameningeal infections, encephalitis). Autoimmune diseases (multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, myasthenia gravis, polyneuritis). Nervous system tumors (brain tumors, spinal cord tumors). Diseases of peripheral and cranial nerves (neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, facial nerve palsy). Syllabus of exercises: Overall neurological examination (cognition, mental functions, speech, motor functions, cranial nerves, movement, walking, sensation, reflexes, emptying). Total care of patients with neurological disease (nursing diagnoses: risk of injury, risk of damage to the corneal tissue integrity, changes in nutrition, dysphagia, aspiration risk, deficit self-care, impaired verbal communication, constipation, change in brain perfusion, changing perceptions, pain, change in body temperature, knowledge deficit). Electrodiagnostic examination in neurology. Nursing care for a patient with an altered level of consciousness, with increased intracranial pressure, with a CNS tumor. OP Nursing Care of a Patient with Epileptic Seizure; OP for a patient with a headache Nursing care for a patient with Parkinson's disease. Nursing care for a patient with Alzheimer's disease; with Huntington's disease. Nursing care of a patient with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Nursing care for a patient with a stroke in the acute phase and in the rehabilitation phase. Nursing care for a patient with meningitis and encephalitis. Nursing care for a patient with multiple sclerosis.
