Biological Theories of Aging, Biological, Psychological Age. Characteristics of periods of life, myths about old age, hierarchy of values. Somatic changes, human responses to old age, lifestyle, age and illness. Psychosocial development, psychological peculiarities of old age, social, economic changes. Special features of psychology and communication in old age and illness, old and chronically ill. Health care for the elderly, nurse-nursing care. Social care for the elderly - Overview of health and social services providers, benefits, ADL tests, IADL and others. Special features of diseases in old age - symptoms, clinical manifestations, the most common diseases of an older age. Multimorbidity, polypragmazia. Psychology of dying and death, nursing care of the dead body. Syllabus of exercises: Specialties of nursing care for the old and the sick. Special features of nursing care for the old and sick person in the family, consolidation and health protection. Primary health care - meaning, benefits.
