Course content
1) Games for the development of speech and communication 2.) Games for the development of phonological awareness 3.) Games for the development of auditory and visual perception 5) EUR in teacher practice, recitation technique, guided reading 6) Development of reading strategies in preschool children. 7.) Didactic aids for the development of reading literacy 8.) Work with symbols, coding and decoding, work with graphics. 9.) Development of graphomotor skills. 10.) Support for reading, cooperation with the family

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 45 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 12 hours per semester
  • Individual project (40) - 20 hours per semester

Knowledge
Student can explain the concept of literacy, the ontogeny of the development of reading literacy and other related concepts.
Student can describe the development of children's speech and problems in the area of speech development and communication.
Student focuses on the offer of contemporary children's literature.
Skills
Student will propose educational activities for the development of individual language levels.
Selects appropriate book titles of various genres for preschool age.
Student can design educational activities to support the development of pre-reading skills.
Selects an appropriate RWCT method and applies it when working with a literary text for a group of preschool children.

Student can explain the concept of literacy, the ontogeny of the development of reading literacy and other related concepts.
Skills
Student applies a three-phase learning model.
Student can design an educational unit developing all components of reading literacy in preschool children.
Based on his/her research of children's literature, student can choose a title suitable for investigating/solving a specific topic in the life of a preschool child.
Student will suggest a suitable graphomotor exercise for a child of preschool age.
Student diagnoses the level of the child's language development and formulates further educational goals based on this.
Student diagnoses the level of development of the child's reading literacy and, as a result, formulates further educational goals.
