Course content
|
1. Multicultural education in the system of pedagogical disciplines, aims, current themes and possibilities of realization of multicultural education and education (current trends in the global context) 2. Clarification of central concepts: culture and its basic attributes, process of enculturation, aculturation, ethnicity, nation, gender, etc. 3. Problems of prejudices, stereotypes and possibilities of their elimination 4. Intercultural communication - verbal, non-verbal aspects, area of communication label, culture influence on education and education 5. Principles of work with cultural diversity - specifics of work with children / pupils with different mother tongue, issues of socio-cultural handicap 6. The issue of minorities and their position, the possibility of effective integration of minorities into the majority society 7. Education, art education with respect to intercultural cultures, prevention of racism and xenophobia 8. Intercultural competences and possibilities of their development 9. Means, methods of multicultural education and their evaluation 10. Application of multicultural education in the world and the Czech Republic 11. Discussion on existing programs of multicultural education (programs prepared by state and non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic and abroad) 12. Real possibilities of work with the subjects of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works in the environment of specific schools and educational institutions 13. Presentation and defense of seminar outputs within the final colloquium

To prepare a lesson regarding the studied field with application of a selected multicultural topic; to present and argue this presentation (project meets all didactic requirements, i.e. the goals, teaching methods, organizational forms, particular activities, reflection) |
To use a suitable multicultural topics in lessons within student's qualification area |
