Course content
1. Definition of family psychology. The concept of family: a dynamic approach, a cognitive-behavioral approach, a humanistic approach. Family characters. Family function. 2. Biological and cultural roots of the family. Family and modern society. 3. Methods in family diagnostics: general principles of family diagnostics and selection, clinical methods, test methods. 4. Systemic approach to family: new scientific paradigms, family system, possibilities and limits of application of system approach. 5. Models of family functioning: symptomatology, bipolar and lattice models, development models, process models. 6. Rodinná resilience: zdravé rodinné fungování, rodinný stres a strategie zvládání zátěže v rodině. 7. Gender concepts and their importance in the family: gender stereotypes, gender and education, gender and school. 8. Current trends in the family: postponement of motherhood, positive vs. negative parenting, very young parents, older parents. 9. Families with a handicapped child. Families with a neglected, deprived and abused child. 10. Marriage: ways of marriage, marriage, marriage, psychological - social and economic capacity to marry. 11. Problems, conflicts, divorce: the most common issues in the marriage area, divorce-divorce myths, divorce calculus, marital tactics, constructive quarrel. 12. Child education in the family: patterns and principles of education, types of education, methods of education and approaches in education. 13. Family education in primary school conditions. Summary, evaluation of teaching.

  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 60 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 10 hours per semester
