Course content
1. Introduction to the study of Psychology. The object of psychology, psychological methods, practical shows. 2. Basic psychological concepts connecting with emergency care; characteristic features of individual, group, and crowd behavior. 3. Health rescue worker and communication - principles of verbal communication with a patient. 4. Health rescue worker and communication - elements of non-verbal communication; significance of its knowledge in work with a problem patient. 5. Health rescue worker and communication - mistakes in social perception. 6. Health rescue worker and communication - a field-work. 7. Psychology in crisis situations; care of disabled in crisis centers. Psychological interventions for the afflicted and the bereaved. 8. Assertiveness at work of health rescue workers - assertive rights and responsibility. 9. Assertiveness at work of health rescue workers - techniques of assertiveness. 10. Assertiveness at work of health rescue workers - practical training. 11. Social perception biases. 12. Assessment of situations - common and uncommon variants. 13. Demanding life situations - stress; coping with stress. 14. Demanding life situations - burn-out. 15. Demanding life situations - significance of free time activities for balance of mind and overall giving good achievements, creativity against demanding life situations. 16. Transactional analysis and its use in practice.

Knowledge
Students are able to: - adequately use all forms of verbal and non-verbal communication, - rightly apply the Transactional analysis, - distinguish assertive, passive, and aggressive behavior, - use right forms of communication in demanding life situations, - distinguish forms of social groups; and describe means of their leading, - illustrate aspects of learning social roles and norms.

- apply theoretical knowledges about coping with difficult life situations while their solving - provide self-reflection of one´s own personality, i. e. describe and critically analyse the results of non-standardized techniques focused on self-knowledge
